“Candyman 2” Region B Bluray Coming in late March

Spread the love

European fans will be happy to know that the British U.K. Label 88 Films is releasing Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh on bluray in late March. This was a worthy sequel to the original film and I’m glad that it’s now getting a region B release. On the surface it appears to be a similar to the release that Scream Factory put out in 2015 as far as special features are concerned, but there are a some new limited edition surprises for fans to enjoy here.

Special Features will include:

  • Limited edition o-card slipcase [first print run only]
  • Limited edition collectors’ booklet by film journalists Dave Wain and
  • Matty Budrewicz [first print run only]
  • High definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation
  • DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack
  • Uncompressed LPCM stereo audio
  • Optional English subtitles
  • ‘The Candyman Legacy’ – interview with actor Tony Todd
  • ‘Down Memory Lane’ – interview with actress Veronica Cartwright
  • Original Theatrical Trailer

As of right now, 88 Films doesn’t have a pre-order link up so we’ll make sure to update this report as soon as one becomes available.

I think director Bill Condon’s (Gods and MonstersFarewell to the Flesh did a wonderful job of expanding on the Candyman mythology and the tragic tale of Daniel Robitaille. I enjoyed a lot of the performances too. I believe Tony Todd gave a more tragic performance than he did in the first film. Also, actress Veronica Cartwright (Alien) did an outstanding job as the sassy and guilt ridden mother Octavia Tarrant who desperatley wants to keep her family safe from a secret that could ruin them all. And composer Philip Glass’s score once again gave the film an emotional center that helped the viewer connect with all the drama of the story.
