Show Notes

Edit: A note from Gary Smart 1/28/2019

Hey Firstly thank you for the commentary Neil, Adam and I were very happy with it. We were hoping that you may be able to add some editorial notes on the description? – the ditties aren’t crowdfunded – the term thug in the U.K. has no racial links. It refers to someone who is prone to violence and has disregard for other people’s feelings eg thuggish behaviour.

Gary Smart

I’ll address these, since it was a response to things I said in the commentary. I had a feeling that I was mis-speaking about Dark Ditties being crowd-funded. This same crew first came to our attention when they crowd-funded Leviathan, the Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound Hellraiser II. So I got a little mixed up there.

As for Thug; what I meant by that is here in the US, I believe it is racially charged because it’s more likely to be used in the media to describe a person with dark skin. So it’s not exclusively a racist word, but has been disproportionately attributed.
