More Hellraiser on the Way?

Spread the love

Does the world need more Hellraiser? Miramax CEO Bill Block apparently still thinks so when he was questioned by CinemaBlend’s Eric Eisenberg about the possibility of new Hellraiser and Scream films coming out in the future while promoting the new Halloween film. While he doesn’t come right out and say it’s obvious which franchises he’s referring to.

From Dread Central:

[Halloween] was a Miramax license, and you’ll see more of these coming from the studio now… I will have some things to share with you. You mentioned something there that we’re working on – two things in there that we’re working on. This is going to be a part of the new program.”

Miramax CEO Says New SCREAM & HELLRAISER Movies a Possibility

Personally, I believe ten films is enough, but a lot of fans will always clamor for more. Hellraiser: Judgment was something I really enjoyed given its small budget with director Gary J. Tunnicliffe crafting a film that was both fun and memorable. I know a lot of people will disagree with that comment, but I don’t care, I enjoyed it.

If there are more Hellraiser films would you like a Scarlet Gospels adaptation (PLEASE), Judgment spin-off film (I wouldn’t mind it), a remake (No, thank you), or more stand alone films (Depends)? Sound off in the comments section below.

Thanks to Dread Central and Danny Stewart for sharing.

I think instead of calling it more installments, they should leave the original franchise alone. Living up to the original Hellraiser standards and following Doug Bradlry’s act might be challenging. I enjoyed Judgement, but didn’t love it. If it would have been branded ”Judgement: A Hallraiser Tale” I would have understood better why we had characters that were not as gruesome as Pinhead or Chatterbox
