Clive Barker Podcast’s Scene of the Week

Hello Everyone,

For this week’s edition of Clive Barker’s Podcast Scene of the Week, I’m paying tribute to my favorite Nightbreed character Peloquin. I don’t know if it was the brilliant makeup design by Image Animation, Oliver Parker’s exceptional performance, or how cool I thought it was the first time I heard a monster say “fuck.” All I knew was that I’d fallen love with a monster. I’m pretty sure if I were to ask many fans who their favorite Breed character is on the spot Peloquin would be at the top of their list.

He certainly sets a tone when we first meet him in the film. His speech to Boone about how “Everything’s True” is my favorite moment from the movie. I love how he’s so casual and dismissive of Boone’s presence causing the viewer to be both cautious and fascinated about his intentions. He’s a character that’s shrouded in mystery and that’s what attracts us to him.
