Concept Art from The Midnight Meat Train

I don’t understand movie producers at all sometimes. They always want to play it safe and never take any chances that could possibly make a film better. Over at the popular horror site Dread Central they’ve recently shared some amazing concept art by Constantine Sekeris, for a character that was totally removed from the film called “The Grandfather”. How the producers thought this character wouldn’t have worked in the film is anybody’s guess.

As many of you know the makers behind the film adaption for the The Midnight Meat Train went up against many problems with the producers concerning the ending of the film. Director Ryuhei Kitamura (who almost walked off the movie) had envisioned a finale that was much closer to Barker’s original short story but was forced to pull back and come up with a compromise that this particular viewer found rather lacking. It’s such a shame because I think audiences would’ve loved more stuff like this from the movie,  but alas it wasn’t meant to be.
