Paul Kane Has “Confidence”

Spread the love

Do you have confidence? Apparently Paul Kane has a lot and he needs our help.

Director Mike Clarke and he are attempting to raise financing through a Kickstarter campaign for their new upcoming film that’s based on Paul’s first original script called Confidence. The film stars Hellraiser and Nightbreed alumni actor Simon Bamford and the story centers around the mind of a shy man attending a self help course that takes a turn for the worse under the heckling of the therapist who is supposed to be helping him.

This sounds very interesting and something I can definitely relate too since I’ve dealt with my fair share of therapists over the years. And being the fantastic writer Paul is I’m sure he’s got something dark and disturbing up his creative sleeve.

Checkout out the official press release that was sent to the Podcast by Paul Kane himself! It includes a link to the Kickstarter campaign, Paul’s official site, and Mike Clarke’s Internet Movie Database page.

A new film is in pre-production and the subject of a Kickstarter campaign. The movie, Confidence, is the first original script by Paul Kane (bestselling and award-winning author and editor of Hooded Man, Hellbound Hearts, Monsters and the forthcoming Sherlock Holmes and the Servants of Hell, which pits Clive Barker’s Cenobites against the world’s most famous detective). Paul has had three previous short films made from his stories – The Opportunity (which premiered at Cannes), The Weeping Woman (which starred Fright Night’s Stephen Geoffreys) and Wind Chimes – plus an episode of NBC/LionsGate’s primetime TV show Fear Itself, ‘New Year’s Day’ was based on his story, ‘Dead Time’ (starring Briana Evigan and the late Cory Monteith). He has also been busy turning his 2012 novel Lunar into a feature script for a UK production company.
