Collector’s Corner: Autographed Nightbreed Blu-Ray

Spread the love

Hello Friends:
This Friday’s spotlight on Collector’s Corner is about the release of the Director’s Cut of Clive Barker’s Nightbreed. Being an Occupy Midian founder, I was rewarded by discovering 8’500 new friends around the world, who share the same fascination about this movie that I do. Some people were skeptical; others were confused throughout this journey: “What is the Cabal Cut? Are they going to find the celluloid footage?” At some points in the process, some of us at Occupy Midian knew a little bit more than we could talk about —and trust me, we really wanted to scream it out to the skies, but secrets are secrets.

When I got the pre-order news, I was sitting in a car dealership and could hardly wait to get home and order my copy. That small delay cost me a lower number (I got #786), in those first couple of days, Scream Factory sold over 2’000 copies and expanded their initial limited edition Deluxe run from 5’000 to 10’000 thanks to Warner who allowed the changes to the licensing agreement.

The rest is history. Ryan and I were invited to attend the Nightbreed screening at the Crest Westwood in LA, and also had the opportunity to visit the Seraphim Films offices, right next door to Clive Barker’s house. More to come on that particular occasion. Now I’d like to share with you my autographed copies of this Blu-Ray release. As you can see, they were autographed at the screening by Anne Bobby, Simon Bamford and Nicholas Vince, as well as Restoration Editor Andrew Furtado and Executive Producer Michael Plumides also signed my extra BR/DVD Combo copy. A little bit after that, Clive Barker was kind enough to sign my copy as well. I’m sure this time it didn’t hurt him to sign a movie that conveyed his vision instead of a slightly warped, compromised theatrical version. That brings a smile to my face.

Thank you to Mark Miller and Ben Meares of Seraphim Films as well as Thomas Negovan, Century Guild for setting up this event and Executive Producer Michael Plumides. Last but certainly not least, thanks to Clive Barker —a true Artist and Imaginer— for this kindness.
