Peter Atkins Blog…

Spread the love

Pete, 1974ish

For the past few years I’ve been wondering what the hell happened to Peter Atkins? As many of you know he’s the screenwriter behind the Hellraiser sequels for Hellbound, Hell on Earth, and Bloodline. He also wrote the original and fun horror fantasy Wishmaster.

Besides Clive Barker there’s only one other man that can write Pinhead dialog and that’s Peter Atkins. He gave the character so many memorable lines and moments that for me he’s the true creator of Pinhead. After he left the series the character pretty much died. I mean can anyone quote me a memorable line of dialog from Inferno to Revelations? If there were I don’t remember any.

I’d constantly check Internet Movie Database to see if he had any new projects coming out but nothing would ever change on his official page there. I thought he might have retired which made me sad because I’m a big fan of the man’s work. His two novels Morningstar and Big Thunder were very good, and I’ve always wished I could track down more of his short stories.

But as luck would have it I came across his official blog site and was happy to see that he’s been keeping busy with his writing over the years. There’s also a really cool part of the blog entitled, “The Cruel Work of Time” and it chronicles Atkins career from when he started with Clive Barker in the Dog Company to what he’s doing now. It appears he’s been doing some acting as well which I didn’t know. There are some really cool pictures in there that I have never seen. It’s a great site so check it out!

Here’s a link to it and enjoy: http://peteratkins.blogspot.com/
