What are your five favorite Pinhead Moments?

Everyone likes a good favorites list and I’ve always wanted to do one where fans choose their favorite moments with the Pope of Hell. Doug Bradley created such a unique character it’s pretty hard, for me at least, to pick the best moments. Try to pick up to five scenes that you think perfectly define the character for you. Here are my five:

The opening from Hellraiser where Pinhead puts Frank’s face back together. I love this moment because it shows the character’s obsession with recreating the pieces of their victim’s bodies back together. He seems to be mocking the flesh and admiring it at the same time.

Also from the first film, I love the part where he rises from behind Kirsty and says the line, “We have such sights to show you.”

From Hellbound I love the scene where he remembers that he’s human. This was a classic movie moment where the monster realizes he wasn’t always evil. Doug does a great job gaining sympathy for the character here.

From Hell on Earth I love this speech he gives Joey. ”Unbearable, isn’t it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends. There is a secret song at the center of the world, Joey, and its sound is like razors through flesh.”

From Bloodline I love the moment Pinhead looks at the picture of Earth on the monitor and basically rips our history apart. Pete Atkins could write some great fucking lines for this character. “Glorious, is it not? The creatures who walk its surface, always looking to the light, never seeing the untold oceans of darkness beyond. There are more humans alive today than in all of its pitiful history. The Garden of Eden. A garden of flesh.”

So those are my top five. I’ll look forward to seeing others favorite moments with the character.
