Happy Birthday Peggy O’Leary!

For those that don’t know, Peggy O’Leary taught Abarat to her Kodiak Alaska Middle School classes.  Clive Barker was so impressed with her curriculum he helped her out, and even gave her an advance copy of Abarat III : Absolute Midnight to help her out.  Clive has interacted with Ms. O’Leary and her class, and the photo above is a birthday card from one of her former students, Patsy N. Anderson.  Patsy wrote:

Mrs. O’Leary, I don’t know where I’d be without you. If I had never had your class my life would be sad and lonely, but now, thanks to you (and Mr. Barker) my life has light and happiness. Thank you so much! I love you dearly (and I never say that!)

As a crazy fan, I’ve travelled all over the county to visit Clive Barker at signings, and when we talk about where I’m from, Alaska, Clive has more than once asked me if I know Peggy O’ Leary, so I made it my business to get to know her on Facebook.

Happy Birthday, and thanks for introducing a new generation to Master Barker.
